Are You or Do You Know a Young Architect in Colorado Who Deserves Recognition?
The fall 2008 issue of Architect Colorado will focus on the topic of young architects in Colorado. A Young Architect is defined as an architect that has received his or her license in the past 10 years. Submittals must include examples of projects and a resume. Please review additional instructions below.
The deadline to submit your firm’s most exciting projects for consideration as features or On The Boards briefs in the fall issue of Architect Colorado is Friday, April 25.
To submit a project for consideration as a feature in Architect Colorado, AIA Colorado’s quarterly design and membership magazine, please follow the following eligibility and submittal guidelines:
Feature Eligibility Requirements
- Project must have been completed within the past three years.
- Project must have been designed by AIA Colorado-member architects
- Project can be located inside or outside of Colorado
Feature Submittal Requirements: Note these are new requirements
- Create a PowerPoint presentation for each project submittal and include the following:
- a title slide with the name and location of the project, name and location of the architect/architectural firm, square footage, budget, project completion date, and name and contact information of person submitting project (all on one slide)
- a brief, one-paragraph narrative about the project (on one slide)
- up to 10 low-resolution (JPEG, 150 dpi) photos per project (one photo per slide and sized to the dimensions of the slide canvas)
- Do not use animation, logos or other designs in the PowerPoint presentation
- Use a white background on every slide
- Print and staple together a hardcopy of the entire PowerPoint file (ensuring that photos are printed in color)
- Burn and label a CD of the PowerPoint presentation, place it in a soft sleeve (i.e., not a jewel case) that can be stapled to the back of the hardcopy
- Include “Feature Submittal” under the name written on the CD

To submit a project for consideration as an On The Boards brief in Architect Colorado, please follow the following eligibility and submittal guidelines:
On The Boards Eligibility
- Project must not yet be under construction
- Project must have been designed by AIA Colorado-member architects
- Project can be located inside or outside of Colorado
- Projects do not have to relate to an issue's theme/focus.
On The Boards Submittal Requirements
- Create a PowerPoint presentation for each project submittal and include the following:
- a title slide with the name and location of the project, name and location of the architect/architectural firm, owner, scope-of-work, cost, expected start and completion dates, and name and contact information of person submitting project (all on one slide)
- a brief (no more than 250 words) description of the project (on one slide)
- up to five low-resolution (JPEG, 150 dpi) artistic model images or renderings (one photo per slide and sized to the dimensions of the slide canvas)
- Do not use animation, logos or other designs in the PowerPoint presentation
- Use a white background on every slide
- Print and staple together a hardcopy of the entire PowerPoint file (ensuring that photos are printed in color)

- Include “OTB Submittal” under the name on the CD
